Situational Challenges

Calspan Corporation was seeking ways to reduce costs of building operations while improving services at their sites in Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. HUNT Property Solutions (formerly HPS) was selected to provide full service facility management for each property. The program included engineering services, contract management, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance services. HPS completed a full facility assessment for the 500,000 square foot Buffalo site and the 125,000 square foot site in Niagara Falls. The implementation plan included facility maintenance cost analysis, utility cost analysis and review of building system conditions. A list of construction projects were identified including engineering and recommended project scope of work along with an estimated construction cost estimate.

Our Results

HPS entered into a multi-year Facility Management contract with Calspan which included engineering, operations in the areas of energy utilization, and building maintenance services. The plan included reinvestment of identified savings into capital projects that would increase the value of the physical asset and improve building systems. The program was approved and implemented with actual results reported on a monthly basis. Savings from the program were immediate. HPS met their goals and objectives and provided Calspan cost reductions and improved building maintenance services as identified in the Condition Assessment and Cost Analysis Report.
